Gabriel Fain Architects Inc. is a Toronto-based practice working across architecture and urbanism with a focus on contemporary housing. The studio brings an energetic, multidisciplinary approach to mid-rise and high-rise residential projects, including rental, affordable, and condominium developments. Current work explores mass-timber construction and ecological design strategies aimed at achieving net-zero performance by 2030. The practice is also active in addressing Toronto’s “missing middle,” delivering thoughtful infill solutions and recognized laneway housing projects that respond to the city’s evolving needs. Alongside housing, the office contributes to larger urban developments throughout the GTA, including mixed-use projects centered on health and wellbeing.

Principal architect Gabriel Fain, OAA, leads the studio with a background shaped by academic excellence and ongoing engagement in architectural discourse. A graduate of the University of Toronto’s Daniels Faculty and recipient of the Heather M. Reisman Gold Medal in Design, he frequently serves as a guest critic and contributes to Canadian Architect Magazine. The firm’s work has been featured in publications such as Azure, Designlines, and The Globe and Mail. With robust BIM capabilities and a full suite of design and documentation services, the office supports projects from early concepts through construction.
